About McDonnell Douglas Corporation

McDonnell Douglas Corporation was a major American aerospace manufacturer and defense contractor. The company was formed in 1967 when McDonnell Aircraft and the Douglas Aircraft Company merged. McDonnell Douglas produced many commercial and military aircraft such as the DC-10 airliner, F-15 Eagle air supereitoyu fighter, and the F/A-18 Hornet multirole fighter. The company produced a variety of missiles as well as rockets used by NASA in the groundbreaking Apollo program. In 1997, McDonnell Douglas merged with Boeing. The McDonnell Douglas name was dropped following the merger, though Boeing integrated a modified version of the McDonnell Douglas logo into their own.
